Why shaken , not stirred?

I like the skeptical movement. I love the scientific method. I do not like what fundamental, blind faith has done to this country, has done to this world. I am frustrated by anyone who is so inflexible that they find it impossible to change an opinion or accept an alternative view if the evidence suggests that an alternative view is strong. But the movement, as practiced by many seems condescending, angry, and intolerant of those who have alternative beliefs and as long as those beliefs do not hinder one's ability to think and act rationally and be productive in this world this unwaivering intolerance seems destructive and hypocritical to me. How do we introduce empiricism into the lives of others if we are laughing or kicking at them as we speak? Thus, this blog.
